What do I need on site?▼
A reliable wired internet connection (minimum 20 Mbit upload), a large table for our kit and equipment, and a power outlet. We bring our video production case with monitor, cameras, various mounts and tripods, and cables up to 50 metres.
Thinking about professional audio and lighting yourself? For small events we can provide 2 wireless lavalier or handheld microphones, but that does not include a mixer or amplification. We can supply a basic lighting kit from €250 extra.
I have a nice camera lying around. Can I use it as an extra?▼
Maybe! The camera must meet certain requirements and be suitable for use as a non-stop video camera. With DSLRs or mirrorless cameras, keep in mind that HDMI output must be clean (many cameras only offer HDMI as monitoring, with video statistics on screen) or they automatically shut off after a certain time. Cameras not specifically made for video can also have problems or overheat with extended use.
Also think about cabling, continuous power, and a good camera stand. We have some extra tripods and cables, but can't guarantee everything will be compatible with your camera. So always discuss well in advance.
Have a USB-C webcam/output with UVC support? There's a good chance it works as an extra camera too. With USB-C, however, cable length is limited: standard USB cables lose signal after 5–10 metres, so such a camera can't be used far from the video desk.
Do you work outside Friesland and the Netherlands?▼
We mainly focus locally, but for the right project we're willing to travel. We're big fans of the Twitch Music community and indie music, and we're definitely happy to think along for those kinds of projects.
We pass on travel costs. The first 30 km from Leeuwarden is free; beyond that we charge €0.75 per kilometre.
For longer distances, or an early start / late finish, we may charge accommodation. Feel free to ask us for a proposal.
Do non-profits get a discount?▼
Yes. Non-commercial projects receive a standard 35% discount on the standard packages, and for a good cause we're happy to put together a fitting proposal.
Which platforms can you stream to?▼
All common platforms are possible: think YouTube, Twitch, Vimeo, or your own RTMP endpoint. Meeting apps like Zoom, Slack, or Microsoft Teams can also be used via a capture card and your own laptop. Want to stream to multiple platforms simultaneously? We use Restream to make that happen, with support for more than 30 platforms.
When do I receive the final video?▼
The live mix, as we produced it on site, you'll receive digitally within 3 working days after the event. Post-production takes longer depending on workload and complexity; allow 3–5 weeks after the event.
Can I supply more than 7 graphics or overlays?▼
7 overlays and 7 graphics/media is the maximum our video switcher can handle.
If you need more than 7 videos or images, we can set up a laptop at an additional cost (depending on the number) to control the overlays and graphics. This laptop does take up one video input, leaving you with a maximum of 5 video inputs.
Keep in mind that we need preparation and time to set up and test the laptop, and therefore need to receive all graphics, media and overlays at least 2 weeks in advance.
What if I really need more than 6 video inputs?▼
Our video switcher has a maximum capacity of 6 inputs. That's a technical limit we can't get around without completely replacing the switcher, which isn't something we're looking at right now. But: in practice, 6 is often enough than you think.
Our cameras are remotely controllable and can zoom and pan, so one camera can deliver multiple shots. A camera aimed at the stage can occasionally be turned to show the audience, for example. That creates more variety without using extra inputs.
Have multiple sources, such as alternating presentation laptops? We can set up an HDMI switch so you can switch between laptops on stage while using only one input.
Unsure whether 6 inputs is enough for your situation? Get in touch. We're happy to think along about the best approach.
